Ambre vs MIA: which AMBR AI agent does what

Ambre and MIA are two separate AI agents from AMBR. Ambre is for personal finance: it reads your portfolio across brokerages, exchanges and wallets, raises market signals and runs monitoring tasks. MIA is for marketing: it monitors a brand, competitors, markets, social channels, news and AI search, and prepares work for approval.

Key takeaways

  • Ambre handles personal finance and MIA handles marketing. They are different products for different jobs and they are not interchangeable.
  • Neither agent gives personal investment advice. AMBR describes MIA as a marketing product, not a finance product.
  • Ambre is available by invitation. MIA has its own product site at mia.ambr.io.
  • The agents are software and not a licensed activity. Regulated activity runs through the licensed firm, Amber Premium FZE.
  • AMBR has not published a price for either agent, and has not published exactly which actions need your approval.

The two agents at a glance

The quickest way to tell them apart is to ask what each one reads. Ambre reads money: your holdings and the markets around them. MIA reads marketing signals: how a brand, its competitors and its markets appear online and in AI-generated answers. Both are AI systems, and AMBR states that their outputs can be wrong.

What Ambre does

Ambre is AMBR's agent for personal finance. AMBR names three features: Portfolio Intelligence, Personalized Market Signals and Ongoing Monitoring & Tasks. Together they turn scattered account information into a view built around your own holdings, then keep watching it.

The key limit is where decisions sit. AMBR says users remain in control of consequential decisions and actions, and that where a transaction is offered it is carried out by a licensed AMBR group entity or a third-party provider, not by the AI. A signal is information, not an instruction to buy, hold or sell. The full detail is on the page about Ambre, the AI agent for personal finance.

What MIA does

MIA is AMBR's agent for marketing. AMBR lists six things it monitors: a user's brand, competitors, markets, social channels, news and AI search. It turns the signals into marketing intelligence, structured work and approved actions for a person to review.

AI search monitoring checks whether and how a brand appears in AI-generated answers. AMBR has not published which assistants or search engines are covered, or how often. The page on MIA, the AI marketing agent sets out what has and has not been published, including AMBR's own figures, which are not independently verified.

Which one fits your task

Choose by the task, not by the brand. The mapping below is plain description rather than a recommendation.

  • You want one view of crypto and shares held in several places: that is the Ambre job.
  • You want an alert when a holding or a portfolio weight changes: that is also Ambre, within its monitoring tasks.
  • You want to know how your company is described in the news or in AI answers: that is the MIA job.
  • You want a person to decide what to buy or sell: neither agent. That needs an adviser licensed where you live.

A business owner who is also an investor may reasonably have both needs. They remain separate products, and nothing published says that data from one is shared with the other.

What the two share

Both agents follow the same general pattern described in our guide to what an AI finance agent is: they read data, work out what it means and prepare a next step for a person. Both are described by AMBR as AI systems whose outputs can be wrong.

The difference in risk is the cost of an error. A wrong marketing draft can be rejected before it is published. A wrong figure in a finance context can feed a decision about real assets. That is why the controls in the guide to AI agent risk controls for digital assets matter most for the finance agent. What AMBR has published about how its agents are controlled is on the security and controls page.

Where the licence sits

The agents themselves are software, and the software is not a licensed activity. Amber Premium FZE is licensed by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) for Broker-Dealer Services, Management and Investment Services and Lending and Borrowing Services, under VASP Licence VL/26/03/003, issued 2 April 2026. Any execution of regulated activity runs through the licensed firm.

That licence does not turn Ambre or MIA into a licensed adviser, and it does not make an agent's output a regulated recommendation. Who answers when software acts on your money is covered in who is responsible when an AI agent acts on your money. The group's licences, entity by entity, are on the about page.

Not financial advice. Crypto is highly volatile and may drop in value significantly. You may lose the amounts you invest and your investments do not benefit from any form of financial protection.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ambre or MIA the better AI agent?

Neither is better, because they do different jobs. Ambre works on personal finance: portfolios, market signals and monitoring. MIA works on marketing: brand, competitors, news and AI search. Choose by the task you have, not by comparing the two.

Can Ambre or MIA give me investment advice?

No. AMBR states that Ambre is an AI system that does not give personal investment advice, and that MIA is a marketing product, not a finance product. Neither is a licensed adviser. Speak to an adviser licensed where you live for a personal recommendation.

Does MIA move money or run payments?

AMBR has not published that MIA does so. AMBR describes MIA as preparing marketing intelligence, structured work and approved actions. Which actions need a person's approval is not stated, so ask before you connect a channel or a budget.

Are Ambre and MIA licensed by VARA?

The agents are software, and the software itself is not a licensed activity. Amber Premium FZE holds the VARA licence, VASP Licence VL/26/03/003, issued 2 April 2026, for Broker-Dealer Services, Management and Investment Services and Lending and Borrowing Services. Any regulated activity runs through the licensed firm.
